A brief introduction

Hi there, my name is Ajibayo Oladapo and I’m currently a final year Economics student at the University of Loughborough. I came to the UK after finishing year 11 at Grange School, Lagos . I’ve had a love for numbers and how objective they were from a young age. You get the right number, you get the right answer. On the other hand, I have also grown to understand the contrasting school of thought taught by many economists and do appreciate the fact that in most cases there may not be a ‘right’ answer. Outside of University, I play sports such as football and weightlifting. Additionally, in my free time I listen to podcasts and spend time with friends as I believe a good balance between work, exercise and an active social life is necessary towards creating a positive mental space for you to strive towards and achieve both short-term and long-term goals. I aspire to take on a master’s degree after my 3 year course and to subsequently work in the banking sector.

What was the biggest challenge you faced adapting to boarding school?: The biggest challenge I faced was the independence we were given. Although not compared to the level which is received at university, this challenge taught me how to properly manage my time. It is in this independence that I was shown the fruits of labour and hard-work and  I have made sure to carry these qualities onto university .
