A brief introduction
Hi, my name is Carlos Omatseye, and I am a 23-year-old student in my final year at the University of Kent. At a young age, I attended Greenwood House School in Nigeria before moving to the UK. I am passionate about Consulting, with a particular focus on Strategy Consulting. My interest in this field stems from a desire to help organizations achieve their goals through effective leadership and strategic planning. I believe that understanding the human element is crucial to driving change and innovation. In addition to my professional interests, I am a strong advocate for men’s mental health. I run a small mental health Instagram page where I actively spread awareness and host charity events to raise awareness for men’s mental health. My goal is to break the stigma surrounding mental health, especially for men, and to create a safe space for those in need of support. Furthermore, I am committed to guiding students on their international education journey. Having moved from Lagos to the UK at a young age, I have firsthand experience of the challenges and excitement that come with studying abroad, particularly in boarding schools. I offer valuable insights to kids and their families, helping them navigate the process of selecting schools and settling into a new environment. I understand the doubts and fears that can arise, and I am here to provide advice and support to make the transition smoother.
What was the biggest challenge you faced adapting to boarding school?: My biggest challenge was being away from my family and being more independent due to me being so far away from them. The first few weeks were difficult as I felt very weird going back to the boarding house to a bunch of boys rather than home to my parents. With the help of friends and regular calls with my parents, I became more comfortable and started to enjoy my time in boarding school.
